Happy Riders

We have a ten years old Belgian Draft mare working as a schoolhorse at our riding school. All the riders adore her, she is sweet and gentle, wonderful to ride. She is being trained in dressage, even been on a show with Luca Nagy in May, taking the second place in dressage competition. On 20 Aug, 2011 we took her to the IV. International Draft Horse Parade, organized in Kóspallag, near Budapest. The twelve-year-old Luca rode her in the dressage ring wonderfully. They also won a competition organized only for draft horses. Congratulations!

When I heard that I won the third category of the Big Creative Project, I was so very surprised and happy. The first thing, I did, was to call my mum and I told her happily the great news. That’s the last thing I would expect, that I will get a lot of experiences in Happyriders Riding School! I speak with Annamária a lot, and we discussed the date when I will go to the riding school. I would like to share my happiness with somebody, so I asked a friend of mine, whether she would like to come with me to the camp. We have long desired to begin the summer vacation, and to go to the school. On 20 of June, we arrived to Újszentiván, we got to know the other campers and the horses. Everybody was so friendly, the horses were trained perfectly and we were very satisfied with everything. We always waited to go to the riding area and start the next riding lesson. Every day we had two riding lessons and two English lessons. We started the learning with English, and what we have studied in theory, we tested in practice. We have studied lots of equestrian phrases, have learned the horses' colours, markings, how to groom the horse, a lot of arena figures too, of course in English. One day, we swam with the horses in a little lake which was also an unforgettable experience.  In the last day's riding lesson we had a little jumping lesson what everybody really enjoyed.  All in all, I’m very happy that I could go to Újszentiván, I met new people who also like horses like me. I hope I will spend my next summer camp in the Happyriders Riding School again!

As you might know, one of our Happyriders, Luca Nagy won the Horze gift voucher on a raffle on our Open Day last May. She has bought a body protector for herself and also bought protective boots and a saddle pad for her favourite horse, Kacér in which she embriodered her name as well! Thank you, Luca!

Palle Haastrup (DK):

During summer 2009 we (Palle, Sten and Erik) visited Southern Hungary, for an equestrian tour of the country.

Our friend and guide, Annamaria Solymosi has a riding school in the Szeged area, and we drove south from Budapest to visit her in the second week of August. During 4 days we rode every day, and had great fun with the horses and the sightseeing in the area. We also visited a number of places of equestrian interest, including the State Stud of Mezőhegyes founded by Empire Joseph 2nd to improve the horse breeding in Hungary. Peter Sovák showed us around the estate and the carriage museum and treated us to a wonderful lunch.

Mate (9): "After we have won the competition of the "Schoolgroup of the Year" at ToyJungle PlayHouse, we have had the opportunity to spend a wonderful day of all equestrian activities at Happyriders Equestrian Centre. All of us have had the chance to ride on horseback and while one group has been riding the pony carriage to the Mélypont Campsite (the lowest geographical point of the country), the other group have learnt a lot about horses in general. Annamaria, the yard manager showed us around the estate and told interesting stories about horses. We also had the opportunity to groom the lovely horses and ponies and learnt a lot about stable management and horse care as well. We also played games at the end of the lovely day for that we are very grateful to Happyriders."
